Henrik Nordahl is a multidisciplinary artist working with abstract sculptures and installations made of materials sourced from the street and hardware stores. His work is a result of a deep research into a material’s behavior and attributes through a process-led experimentation that he considers as a “collaboration”. Driven by a lifelong obsession with collecting objects, his work explores the ‘life’ of the non-human, turning something seemingly prosaic with a distinct backstory into something formally unassuming but implacably charged. He questions whether these materials can bear ‘witness’, and that by collaborating with them they can tell stories of their journey, and our implicit connection to the forms they have taken.
