APPLICATIONS MUST BE POST MARKED BY APRIL 21, 2009 for the 2009-2010 residency season
Available Residency dates:
- Four-month Fall - October 1 to January 15
- Four-month Spring - February 1 to May 21
- Alternative time span within the above dates may be arranged upon request
To apply for an artist, naturalist, or recorder residency, please follow the process below and mail your completed package to: Sitka Center Residency Program, PO Box 65, Otis OR 97368.
Application materials must include the following:
- The completed application (download PDF application). If you would like an application to be mailed to you please contact the Sitka Center at info@sitkacenter.org or 541-994-5485. In your application, please include a description of the project that you would like to work on during a residency at the Sitka Center, specifying use of space, studio, and/or Cascade Head Scenic Research Area. In the natural science program, preference will be given to research on the Oregon Coast environment. Your application should include why you are interested in Sitka and what Sitka has to offer you and your work.

- Two letters of recommendation
- 10–20 images on CD of your work depending on the category of
residency (see below) and/or a written thesis, manuscript or published
work within the last five years. If you're applying for a recorder residency,
please send a copy of a musical performance or composition. Note:
images on CD should be in JPG format and be identified with
your last name. A list, indicating title, size of work, media represented,
and year of completion, should accompany your CD of images.
Category of Residency:
- Emerging Artist/Naturalist: please send your best work
- Mid-Career Artist/Naturalist: please include any work from last five years
- Artist/Naturalist on Sabbatical: Please include any work from last five years
- Self-addressed envelope, stamped for correct postage, if you want your materials returned

Selection and Acceptance Requirements
Review and selection is by peer review based on the specific applications and field. All applicants will be notified by mail by May 20th. Acceptance contracts must be returned by June 20th. Acceptance of a Residency requires respect of and adherence to the covenants of Cascade Head Ranch, the residential community wherein Sitka Center is located.
