Sitka Art Invitational Turns 15 in 2008!

Chaired by Pam Baker, planning for this year's Sitka Art Invitational is well underway. Artists this year were selected by a team
of three experienced guest curators, Eloise Damrosch, Executive Director of RACC; John Olbrantz,
Executive Director of the Hallie Ford Museum of Art; and Kristin Shiga, Extension Program Director at OCAC,
who chose artists based on the high quality of their art and their interest in the environment.
This year, we have titled the show: "Conversations with Nature." By having a theme we hope to present an exhibit that has a targeted focus and sensibility. This show will include figurative, landscape, abstract, color field and all other genre in all media. By having the work inspired by the relationship nature has with sustaining humanity we hope that it will speak to the public in a very significant way. Art does change peoples' perception of life. We hope that others will be excited about this commitment to Sitka's core values.
