Description

Smalti is traditional mosaic glass, crafted for hundreds of years to form the vibrant imagery of cathedrals and public spaces. Its texture and saturated color are enticing to the mosaicist, but it can also be intimidating at first glance. In this workshop, we’ll explore a variety of traditional and modern tools to learn how to cut and shape this intriguing material, using it in unexpected ways to build confidence and create your first smalti mosaic.
