Description

In this two-day hands-on workshop, participants will have the opportunity to photograph in the lush forests of Cascade Head using a 4X5 view camera. This workshop will introduce them to large format photography, where they will work with a 4X5 camera (provided or bring their own) and learn the basics of swings and tilts, metering, film handling, and loading. Additionally, the workshop will cover the other equipment needed and the process of developing film. Participants will use the view camera in the field, experiencing a more contemplative approach to making photographs. They will also do some light hiking around Sitka, and their developed film will be mailed to them after the workshop.
