Peggy Randon (b. 1999) is an African-American/Afro-Caribbean visual artist and scientist from Detroit, MI. She received her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the Honors College at the University of Michigan in 2021. Her scientific interests include microbiology-immunology, while her artistic interests surround mixed media portraiture and botanical photography. Her scientific work has been published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation Insight, Proceedings of the Royal Society B, and Cell Stem Cell. Her portfolio has been in group exhibits in the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit and the College of Creative Studies, and has been commissioned by the National Center for Institutional Diversity. She is an incoming 2023 residential fellow at the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology. Peggy has been nationally recognized for her art, community service, and scientific pursuits as a Live Más Scholar, Projects for Peace Fellow, Cayman Biomedical Research Institute research grant recipient, U.S. Department of State Office of International Health and Biodefense Intern, NIH Minority Health Research Training Fellow, and an NIH Intramural Research Training Award Fellow. She currently enjoys juxtaposing science and art engagement for the happiness and healing of others.
