Michelle Ruiz Keil
Michelle Ruiz Keil (she/her) is a playwright, tarot reader, and author.
Her debut novel, All of Us With Wings, a Book The Month Club pick, was featured by NBC News, Entertainment Weekly, and Ms. Magazine and reviewed in The New York Times. Her sophomore novel, Summer In The City of Roses, was a Publisher’s Weekly Hottest Book of Summer, a Tor.com and Bustle best book of 2021, an Amazon Editor’s Pick, and a finalist for the Ursula K. Le Guin Prize for Fiction.
Michelle’s short fiction is featured most recently in the Buckmxn Journal and the anthology Dispatches From Anarres. Recent dramatic pieces were produced by Shaking The Tree Theater. She is a 2021 Tin House Scholar, a 2022 Regional Arts and Culture Council grantee, and the recipient of residencies from Hedgebrook, The Sitka Center for Art and Ecology, and the Bloedel Reserve.
Born in San Francisco, Michelle has lived in Portland, Oregon for many years where she curates the fairytale reading series All Kinds of Fur and lives with her family in a cottage where the forest meets the city.
