Description

Encaustic painting has often been called the ultimate mixed media. This workshop will not only prove the case, but expand the bounds of what it means to paint with wax and a variety of unusual materials and tools. This creative exploration, underpinned by freedom of mark making and immersion in the intuitive process, is a non-traditional approach to encaustic painting. We’ll use wax, resin, pigments, water and fire to create our own take on mixed media. If weather permits, we can take a turn creating outdoors, en plein air, for inspiration from the natural environment. This is an opportunity to take your artistic expression in a new direction and find joy in the process.
