David Andree

  • Interdisciplinary 2026

David Andree is an artist working across painting, sculpture, sound, and site-responsive installation, often in direct collaboration with the shifting conditions of place.

A member of the Red Lake Nation of Ojibwe, he explores landscape as a living archive shaped by flux, memory, and ecological entanglement. His work has been exhibited at the Weisman Art Museum, Plains Art Museum, and the Minnesota Museum of American Art, and has received awards from the Mid-America Arts Alliance, the Minnesota State Arts Board, and the Human Impacts Institute. He has held residencies at MacDowell, the Studios at MASS MoCA, UCross, and the Wassaic Project. At Sitka, he will continue a practice rooted in attentiveness, impermanence, and environmental co-authorship.
