Joshua Oduga

Joshua Oduga is a first-generation Nigerian American interdisciplinary artist, experimental musician, curator, and writer based in Los Angeles.
His practice centers on analog electronics, archival materials, and sculptural sound, often drawing from oral and musical traditions to create immersive sonic and spatial works. He has presented curatorial and artistic projects with institutions such as
the Getty Research Institute, Art + Practice, the Hammer Museum, the Baltimore Museum of Art, The Torrance Art Museum and Jeffery Deitch Gallery. In 2022, he co-founded Central Server Works with Rachael Oduga as a hybrid gallery, publishing imprint, and film/theater production house. His work has been supported by fellowships from Areaware, Center Theatre Group, and Emerging Arts Leaders LA, and he has held residencies at Fondazione Pistoletto’s Cittadellarte and the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation. Oduga’s writing has appeared in Hyperallergic, X-Artists Books, and the Getty, with a focus on experimental practices within the Los Angeles creative economy.
