  • Performance Arts 2026

Alexandra Light (Washington, DC) is a choreographer and former principal dancer with Texas Ballet Theater, where she performed leading roles for over a decade.

Her work explores how ballet can intersect with ecology, architecture, and feminist history through site-specific performance and interdisciplinary collaboration. She has created original choreography for institutions including the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Dance Canvas, and the Frank Lloyd Wright Martin House, with performances at venues such as the Battery Dance Festival and Ailey Citigroup Theater. Alexandra’s practice blends movement with visual media, drawing from research and lived experience to craft poetic, place-responsive performances. She has been supported by residencies at Jacob’s Pillow, ORTO (Portugal), the Centre Pompadour (France), and more.
