Description
Learn a classic quilt square – the Sawtooth Star – in this fun pattern by Then Came June. The Star Adventure Quilt Pattern is a great beginner quilt that can be made in a variety of ways. In this immersive four day offering, participants will learn all steps for creating a quilt, from measuring and cutting fabric, sewing perfect squares (and half square triangles!), and finishing your quilt. Leave this class with a finished quilt in a size of your choosing.
About the Instructor
A third generation quilter, Vivien received an MFA in Fibers and Material Studies from the Tyler School of Art in 2020, and a BFA in Fibers from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2014. Originally from Chicago, she is an avid quilter, bicyclist, and lover of breakfast. In her art practice, she centers materiality, community, and environment. Vivien has taught workshops at Radius Art Studio and Modern Domestic in Portland, The Works Seattle, The Sewing & Stitchery Expo, Abington Art Center, Chicago Public Library, Fabric Workshop and Museum, among others.

You will need to bring:
Sewing machine
Fabric (follow chart on pattern to determine quantities)
Thread (any color for sewing pieces together, and thread color of your choice for topstitching)
Rotary cutter + mat
24” clear grid ruler
Batting (for quilt size of your choosing)
Fabric for quilt backing and binding (size of your choosing, approximately 20” larger in height and width than your quilt top)

Fabric marking tool (chalk, water soluble pen, colored pencil, etc)
