Brenda Holmes-Stanciu

Youth Instructor

An East coast native who lived decades in the mountains of Colorado, Brenda moved to the NW tip of Oregon with her family to enjoy the water, moss, and huge trees. With an education background that includes a BFA in Illustration and a Masters in Curriculum, she was a public school teacher for over three decades with a focus on early childhood. As a lead naturalist at a nature center, she wrote award winning curriculum for all ages.

Teaming with local and state agencies, she helped to bring science to classrooms while also teaching workshops and college classes that gave teachers the confidence to share science in their own classrooms. Brenda’s interest in hummingbirds has given her opportunities to assist in research and she often presents about these magnificent birds and their unique abilities. Learning is an exciting, lifelong adventure that Brenda enjoys as a teacher and as a student.
