Description

In this one day workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of working with a slab and delicacy of porcelain. The instructor will encourage the concept of sourcing inspiration from nature when building their piece. Students can decide to create a functional or decorative piece. After the building portion of the workshop, the instructor will teach students how to mix slip. Students can then add detail by slip trailing or texturing their piece. Example of pieces to create but not limited to; wall hanging, serving tray or candle holder. The instructor will have found pieces or photos from nature to draw inspiration from for the workshop. However, it’s encouraged for students to bring sketches, found objects or photos themselves.
