Description
Using Japanese masa paper and your everyday watercolor supplies you will create paintings filled with the crackles and texture usually seen in batik. You will not need to buy any new supplies for this workshop, but your paintings will have a whole new feel. This class is for watercolor artists of all levels. Rebecca will lead participants through a series of explorations as an introduction to Masa paper using techniques to crack the paper’s sizing artists to create a textured background. The workshop will explore ways to edit a Masa painting, and ways to mount the painting to paper, canvas, or panels. Each participant will leave with two or three finished paintings. The focus of the workshop will be on experimentation, fun, community and process.
