Patricia Giraud is a printmaker who lives and works south of Portland. Giraud’s imagery evolved through the study of science, writing, photography, art and ultimately printmaking. She works with traditional intaglio methods on copperplates, incorporating their flaws and anomalies. Her prints are often about quiet moments; they draw upon memories while interpreting the shapes and textures found in the landscape. Giraud was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. After years of travel, she settled with her family in Portland in the1980s. She has helped with the installation of the Art Invitational for over ten years and is a volunteer on the Sitka Art Invitational Committee.
