Alan Holzapfel

Alan and his wife Dorcas have owned their home at Cascade Head Ranch since 2007 and have been permanent residents since 2014.
They have participated in various Sitka Center events and have taken many workshops as well.
In addition to a construction management and development career, Alan is a retired U. S. Navy pilot who flew search and rescue helicopters from aircraft carriers. Time with the Port of Portland as the Operations Manager at Portland International Airport included managing the Fire and Rescue Service and the Airport Police Department.
Due to these experiences Alan developed an ongoing interest in emergency preparedness and gained a FEMA certification as a Neighborhood Emergency Team leader in Portland. After moving to Cascade Head Ranch, he has continued to participate in emergency planning with the Cascade Ranch Homeowners Association.
