Teresa Barnes

Youth Instructor

Teresa Barnes has been a resident and an active member of the Astoria community for over two decades. She holds a BA in Social Work and has been passionate about social justice, creative expression and the natural world since childhood.

She witnessed the healing power of combining art, nature and intentional safety at VOCA (Victory Over Child Abuse) camp, where she proudly served for 15 years, and later volunteered with Art Room’s Art Camps and Sitka’s K-8 Create Program. She is thrilled to join the Sitka team as a staff member to continue the invaluable work of investing in children by creating magical, supportive learning environments.
