Anis Mojgani is the current Poet Laureate of Oregon, and a 2021 Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellow. A two-time individual champion of the National Poetry Slam and winner of the International World Cup Poetry Slam, he has performed at hundreds of universities across the U.S. and festivals around the globe. His work has appeared on HBO, National Public Radio, and in the pages of the New York Times, as well as in the recent anthology, African American Poetry: 250 Years of Struggle & Song. The author of five books of poetry and an opera libretto, Mojgani's first children’s book is forthcoming from Chronicle Books in 2024. A native of New Orleans, he currently lives in Portland OR.
