Kirk Gordon is a landscape architect, graphic designer, and non-fiction writer based in Brooklyn, NY.

Through a combination of science, design, and storytelling, Kirk works to illuminate the vibrancy of the natural world in its most unexpected places. His work investigates the role of nature in our rapidly urbanizing, digitizing world, and explores new practices and perspectives that reimagine our relationship with nature for the 21st century. He is currently employed at SCAPE Landscape Architecture in New York City—a firm specializing in the design of resilient, ecologically-driven public parks and open spaces. As a certified arborist with degrees in botany and zoology, his role focuses on the development of climate-adaptive planting and maintenance practices. He has written about this topic for publications such as The Other Almanac, and is the author of Unnatural Heritage, a newsletter exploring the strange entanglements between the natural and digital worlds. Kirk also works with the PR firm Bold Bison to offer graphic design and storytelling services to environmental organizations. His clients have included the Giant Sequoia Lands Coalition, Openlands, the Kinship Foundation, and MacArthur Genius grant winner Dr. Lisa Schulte Moore. When not working, Kirk can be found in his backyard tending to his native plant garden.
