Sideyard Studios is a full-service documentary production company based in Portland, OR
Cecilia Brown is an Emmy-nominated documentary director, producer and editor based in Portland, OR. Her work has appeared on HBO, The New Yorker, This American Life, the San Francisco MOMA and The North Face, and has been supported by the Catapult Film Fund. In 2019 she was awarded ‘Best Oregon Filmmaker’ by McMinnville Film Festival. In 2023, she co-directed, produced and edited Strong Grandma, a documentary short which won multiple awards for best short documentary, screened at over 20 festivals including True/False, Doc10 and the Paris Olympics and was acquired by The New Yorker. She has edited multiple award-winning shorts including Swept (2025 Emmy Nominee for Best Short Documentary), Teddy (2025), and Walking Two Worlds (Tribeca premiere, 2022). In 2020 she graduated with a Master’s in Multimedia Journalism from the University of Oregon. She is also co-founder of Sideyard Studios with Winslow Crane-Murdoch.
Winslow Crane-Murdoch is an award winning director and cinematographer based in Portland, OR. His first documentary feature, The Quiet Epidemic, had its World Premiere at HotDocs 2022. It went on to be selected in over 20 other festivals winning ‘best feature’ four times, receiving an excellence in directing award, and receiving a national theatrical release culminating in a screening at Congress. Winslow’s most recent short documentary, Strong Grandma, won multiple awards for best short documentary, screened at over 20 festivals including True/False, Doc10 and the Paris Olympics and was acquired by The New Yorker in early 2025.
