Ted Mathys

Ted Mathys is the author of the poetry collections Gold Cure (2020), Null Set (2015), The Spoils (2009), and Forge (2005), all published by Coffee House Press.
The Labors, a novel in verse that reimagines the mythological labors of Herakles in contemporary American labor subcultures, is forthcoming. Originally from rural Ohio, he holds an MA in international environmental policy from Tufts University and an MFA in poetry from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. His work has been supported with fellowships and awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, New York Foundation for the Arts, Poetry Society of America, and MacDowell, and his writing has appeared in a range of publications including American Poetry Review, BOMB, Boston Review, Conjunctions, Harvard Review, The Kenyon Review, and The Yale Review. He lives in Saint Louis and is an associate professor of English at Saint Louis University.
