The band performs a variety of mainstream jazz styles including hard bop and original compositions and was featured at the 2022 Oregon Coast Jazz Party. They will release an original Album this fall.

Saturday, Oct.19, 12pm-1:30pm – Cassis

Cassis is a quartet which plays early music on a variety of instruments, such as recorders, double reeds and gamba.  Expect tunes from the Renaissance with additions from more modern eras.  Two of the musicians recently were Sitka residents.

Saturday, Oct.19, 2pm-4pm – The Djangophiles

Influenced by the famous Gypsy Jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt the trio includes a violinist and 2 guitarists playing Le Jazz Hot music. The Djangophiles, in keeping with the tradition of the music, use acoustic instruments and use sound reinforcement only when necessary.

Sunday, Oct.20, 11:30am-1pm – Thomas Meinzen

Thomas Meinzen’s original music compositions interweave human and natural soundscapes with transcribed bird songs and live music. He strives to develop music and writing that conveys the emotional depth and complexity of the natural world and inspires active care for the rich and varied life on our planet. Meinzen was a Sitka resident in 2023.
