Together, we can nurture a lasting legacy where art, ecology and community thrive.
Join the Sitka Spruce Society and plan your Sitka legacy.
The Sitka Center for Art and Ecology, nestled amidst the breathtaking landscape of the north-central Oregon coast, draws inspiration from the Sitka spruce (Picea sitchensis). These majestic conifers, guardians of our beloved Cascade Head campus, epitomize the resilience and harmony of our unique coastal ecosystem, where wild meadows, forests and ocean air converge. Remarkably long-lived, some Sitka spruces endure for up to 700 years. Later in their life cycles, they continue to support the forest ecosystem as nurse logs long after they fall, providing nutrients and protection for seedlings and nurturing the new generation.
In recognition of the enduring qualities of the Sitka spruce, we seek to honor and remember those who include the Sitka Center in their estate planning. Donors who support our mission by naming the Sitka Center in their estate plans or wills will be recognized as members of the Sitka Spruce Society.
Thanks to the steadfast and growing support of donors, workshop patrons and foundation partners, the Sitka Center stands on firm financial footing. Today, we are honored to recognize the Sitka Spruce Society for ensuring a legacy of environmental stewardship and creative enrichment for generations to come.
