Description

Create realistic or fanciful bird portraits using the techniques of stencils and templates without any drawing skills. Use recycled paper as “paint” to create unique works of art. You will make two or more attractive, frame-ready works of art featuring your favorite birds. You can use these secret techniques to create an infinite number of other works at home, and surprise yourself with how sophisticated your results can be.

Materials List

You will need to bring:

8 x 10 or larger color photo or photocopy of interesting or appealing birds. Calendar images are great and there will be plenty of images in class. Close-ups are best. Your image will not be damaged.

Papers that are interesting to you and old magazines to cut up

Your favorite scissors

A cutting mat and X-Acto knife if you have them, extras available in class.
