Description

Build your own journal with a connection to nature! In this three-day workshop, Anji teaches the basics of bookmaking, including sewing signatures into books, creating covers, and adding little tucks and hidden areas for nature keepsakes. To support participants in learning the process, the workshop includes the essential bookmaking supplies needed to create a book, allowing time for building, creating, and working with nature. Anji provides 50 pages of paper for signatures, a complete bookmaking kit—which participants get to take home—and the proper bookbinding glue to use. For those who have always wanted to make their own journals for writing, sketching, or painting, Anji guides participants through the step-by-step process of introductory bookmaking.

About the Instructor

Anji’s work derives its inspiration from the magic and wonders of nature.

She is drawn to see and focus on what others may not notice. If we look closely, there are many wonders to see inside a raindrop, within the soft folds of a rose petal, or in the tiny pieces of pollen clinging to the back of a bumble bee. Her goal is to give the viewer a look into the unique creations that surround us and to portray a feeling of magic and mystery.
