About the Instructor

JoAnn works in watercolor, calligraphy, and collage especially exploring the ephemeral aspects of time/nature and using narrative themes.

She has exhibited with numerous art organizations and galleries and has taught classes independently as well as through Valley Art, the Watercolor Society of Oregon, the Hillsboro Library System, the Washington County Art Alliance, and the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology.

Materials List

You will need to bring:

Small cutting mat

Exacto knife

Small sharp scissors

40g UHU glue stick

Small pieces of decorative papers to collage

At least an HB and 2B graphite pencil, pencil sharpener and white or gum eraser

An 05 and 005 Micron black or dark brown pen

An assortment of artist quality watercolors, small to medium brushes, palette and water container.

Any Pacific Coast objects or images you have and might like to work with.

Some decorative papers for collages

Extra scissors

Exacto knives

Objects and/or images of Pacific Coast treasures: shells, stones, driftwood, seaweed/algae, starfish, Dungeness crab, octopuses/seahorses/jellyfish/urchins, whales and fish, birds and feathers.
