Description

Inspired by plein air painting, this course invites you to transform the sights, sounds, and feelings of the natural world into personalized perfumes. You’ll learn the basics of natural perfumery, including scent identification, blending techniques, and how different essences affect emotion. We’ll also explore coastal Cascade Head landscape for inspiration, drawing from the colors, textures, and aromas around us. A key focus of this workshop will be coming to an understanding of the Language of Scent, and how aromas evoke memories and emotions. You’ll develop a vocabulary to translate the visual and emotional elements of your surroundings into a cohesive fragrance, deepening your connection to nature and enhancing your ability to create evocative, meaningful scents.
