Description

In this one-day workshop, participants will experience the ceramic art of Raku, an exciting technique that involves removing the ceramics from a special kiln at the height of firing. Participants will begin the day glazing their previously bisque-fired pieces, then participate in firing the Raku kiln while learning about the process. Glaze will be provided by the instructor. Participants may choose to do a naked (unglazed) Raku piece and apply horsehair or feathers to create different effects on the unglazed surface. Participants who choose to glaze will achieve a metallic surface on their finished item.
